Before you start working on sanding, make sure that the wall is completely dry. Sanding wet surfaces can cause severe damage to the surface
• Which sandpaper / sanding block will be the most suitable to start with? It’s best to start working with a sanding paper or cubes with P60-100 granulation. A good reflector or flashlight can be used to see the sanding effects closely.
• Which sanding paper gradation will be most effective later? You should go down to finer granulation – e.g. P120, then P150.
• What if the end effect is not satisfactory ? Usually, sanding ends with P150 paper, although i you can still sand with P180 paper, and in some cases even higher.
When choosing paper for sanding coats, you should also remember to descend from individual gradations
gradually. Too large a gap between granulation may result in an unsatisfactory effect, because the
scratches that arose when grinding with coarser abrasive grains may not be completely removed.
